| Did you know? 315 - 600 million laptop and desktop computers in the US will soon become obsolete. A typical computer monitor with a cathode ray tube display contains 2-4 kilograms of lead, and the internal components of PC's contain cadmium and beryllium(in addition to many other toxic ingredients). |
| To combat the growing number of "dead" PC's and peripherals that New Orleanians need to dispose of, Uptown Computer has partnered with an electronics recycling facility to help eliminate the amount of dangerous, toxic waste that has undoubtedly gone to landfills since Hurricane Katrina. Please stop by and drop off your computer, monitor, or printer and do your part to keep these items out of landfills. Together, we can all help keep our environment healthy and sustainable while we rebuild our city. |
